On January 5, 2008, Tim & I traveled to Madison for the Transiberian Orchestra concert. It was amazing! I have never seen a laser light/pyrotechnic show that could top it. Also, it was super cool to watch the electric violinist run across stage and up the platform.
I highly recommend seeing shows at the Allianz Energy Center in Madison because there wasn't a bad seat in the house. It was also great to stay at the Clarion Suites, which is a great hotel (and I'm picky) and across the parking lot from the concert place.
On Sunday, we woke up to the worst fog I have ever seen. You could barely see the parking lot from our 7th story hotel window. Visibility was as low as 100 feet. The drive home was tense, scary, and stressful. Most cars were traveling about 70 mph, which seems absurd in that kind of fog. But you really needed to keep up with the car in front of you or else you wouldn't be able to tell if they hit the brakes; and if you came up to a car driving really slowly...forget about it. That
is probably what happened (I don't know for sure) to cause the 100 car pile-up in Madison. 3 people died in that accident. Here are some video clips I shot while we were driving home...

Lisa, I'm so glad you made it home safely and you weren't part of that terrible pile up because, if not your friendship and company, I would at least miss your organization and awareness of what's going on in class. Also, I responded to your comment on my blog for Meaghan. I think we spend the entire car ride back to Minneapolis talking about that question. Absolutely ridiculous.
