Life Lessons

Over the years, I have been fortunate to have been blessed with amazing women in my life. My mom, grandma, and auntie are undoubtedly the most interesting, amazing, wonderful women I have ever known. They have taught me more valuable lessons than anyone else. Here are a few of the most precious morsels:

  • If someone gives you a compliment, just say "Thank you." Don't start diminishing their opinion by saying how old or ratty something is.
  • When you get annoyed by others, first look at yourself for the flaw. Odds are that whatever is bothering you about them is actually a reflection of something you don't like about yourself.
  • When multiple people bug you on a certain day, chances are that you are just in a bad mood and they are fine. Get over it.
  • Read something everyday.
  • Don't burn any bridges...figuratively speaking.
  • Never be afraid to move new places.
  • You can't run away from your past, but sometimes it's fun to try.
  • Planning & dreaming about a trip can be as fun as actually taking it.
  • It's okay to have TLC days just for you.
  • Eat fiber (AKA "roughage") daily.
